Main wine regions and their characteristic types

Tuscany

Piedmont

Chianti
It is one of the most famous Italian wines, made mainly from Sangiovese grapes.
It is characterized by a fruity aroma with notes of cherry, violets and earthy accents.

 

Brunello di Montalcino
A wine made from the Sangiovese grosso variety, known for its longevity and deep flavor with notes of plums, cherries, tobacco and spices.

 

Vino Nobile di Montepulciano

  • Indicazione Geografica Tipica (IGT)
    Wines with a geographical indication that must meet certain minimum quality standards.
  • Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC)
    Wines from specific regions that must meet strict production and quality rules.
  • Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita (DOCG)
    The highest category, with even stricter regulations on quality, origin and production.
