Greece: Weather and climate
When most of us think about Greece, the first associations are blue sky and hot rays of sunlight. In summer, the climate here is Mediterranean, offering heat that makes even the most sun-resistant people fall in love with the rays. Average temperatures in July and August can reach up to 30-35 degrees Celsius. It’s the perfect time for lazy days on the beach, diving in the azure waters of the Aegean Sea and sampling local delicacies in the shade of pleasant tavernas.

Όταν οι περισσότεροι από εμάς σκεφτόμαστε την Ελλάδα, οι πρώτοι συνειρμοί είναι ο γαλάζιος ουρανός και οι καυτές ακτίνες του ήλιου. Το καλοκαίρι, το κλίμα εδώ είναι μεσογειακό, προσφέροντας θερμότητα που κάνει ακόμη και τους πιο ανθεκτικούς στον ήλιο να ερωτεύονται τις ακτίνες. Οι μέσες θερμοκρασίες τον Ιούλιο και τον Αύγουστο μπορεί να φτάσουν έως και 30-35 βαθμούς Κελσίου. Είναι η ιδανική στιγμή για χαλαρές μέρες στην παραλία, βουτιές στα γαλαζοπράσινα νερά του Αιγαίου και δοκιμάζοντας τοπικές λιχουδιές στη σκιά ευχάριστων ταβέρνων.

Kiedy większość z nas myśli o Grecji, pierwsze skojarzenia to błękitne niebo i gorące promienie słońca. Latem panuje tu klimat śródziemnomorski, oferujący upały, które sprawiają, że nawet najbardziej oporni na słońce zakochują się w promieniach. Średnie temperatury w lipcu i sierpniu mogą sięgać nawet 30-35 stopni Celsjusza. To doskonała pora na leniwe dni na plaży, nurkowanie w lazurowych wodach Morza Egejskiego i próbowanie lokalnych przysmaków w cieniu przyjemnych tawern.

αθηναϊκή ακρόπολη
Ο λόφος ονομαζόταν από τους αρχαίους Ακρόπολη ή Πόλη. Στην προϊστορική περίοδο μπορεί να ονομαζόταν Αθηνά ή Αθηνάι και να ονομαζόταν από τη θεά Αθηνά. Ο Hurwit (1999) υποστηρίζει ότι το όνομα της θεάς προέρχεται από το λόφο.
Athenian Acropolis
The hill was called by the ancients Akropolis or Polis. In the prehistoric period it may have been called Athene or Athenai and named after the goddess Athena. Hurwit (1999) maintains that the name of the goddess comes from the hill.
Κάστρο του Πλαταμώνα
Το πιο γνωστό και χαρακτηριστικό μνημείο του Πλαταμώνα είναι τα ερείπια ενός μεσαιωνικού κάστρου. Χτίστηκε σε λόφο κοντά στον Όλυμπο και φαίνεται καθαρά από την πόλη. Βρισκόμενοι στον Πλαταμώνα, τα ερείπια τραβούν τα βλέμματα και προκαλούν το ενδιαφέρον.

Platamon Castle
The most famous and characteristic monument of Platamonas are the ruins of a medieval castle. It was built on a hill near Olympus and is clearly visible from the city. While being in Platamonas, the ruins catch the eye and arouse interest.
Meteoros
Meteors are high (reaching over 540 m above sea level) sandstone rocks. Monasteries, or Greek monasteries, were built on their peaks. Today, out of 24, only 6 remain in good condition. This is one of the most breathtaking places to see in Greece.
